This past weekend we took Perri on her first road trip back to Stockton to meet her great-grandparents. We went back Thursday after work with an overnight pit stop in Topeka, and came back early Sunday morning. We hung out with family most of the time, enjoying time with great-grandpa Korb, and great-grandpa and grandma Hoar. We also spent time with my aunts that were in town, as well as Betsy’s cousin and their kids. And of course we spent time with Papa and Nana in Topeka on the way and spent the night with Gramps and Mimi in Stockton. It was definitely an on the go weekend. It was good to see everyone and catch up since we have not been back since Christmas. Everyone thought she was pretty special, and cute. We got mixed reviews on who she looks like, but Betsy and I thinks she looks like “Perri.” She did pretty good while we were out there adjusting to the new environment and seeing all the new people. Saturday night was kind of rough, as her nightly routine was totally out of whack. The trip finally took its toll on the way home as she was tired of being in the car seat and let us know it. But we survived and made it home. Once we got home we went to a friend’s house and had some CPR training and afterward enjoyed some BBQ with friends. Needless to say it was nice to get home and relax after putting Perri down after her bath (she loves bath time), though it was short lived as Betsy and I were exhausted from the weekend, we shortly followed. We are going to try to start some type of day schedule with Perri this week as she still does not nap at all and is taking its toll on Betsy. We also hope to graduate her from our room in her bassinette to her room in her bassinette. I am not sure she is ready for the next step, from bassinette to the crib, but probably soon. So hopefully things go smoothly and she transitions well. It looks to be a busy week for us otherwise, Betsy has a work practice council meeting tonight, I play softball on Tuesday, I have to ref basketball games Wednesday and we have RCIA class Thursday. Hopefully Friday we can have some quiet time together with just the three of us. We will keep you posted on how things are going and how Perri is changing. Until next time.
